There are currently 1,145 Sierra Club members and supporters in Summit and Wasatch Counties, locally known as the “Wasatch Back.” The Utah Chapter’s Wasatch Back Network (WBN) acts as a local Sierra Club resource for these people and helps to confront the range of environmental issues accompanying population growth in these areas. The Network will also benefit from Chapter support for other local issues, campaigns, outings, and social activities.
What is a ‘network’ as opposed to the traditional chapter structure of a ‘group?’ A Network is similar to a Group, but is less structured and operates on a more casual basis.
Marion Klaus is currently the WBN leader and comes to the Network with many years of leadership and hands-on experience in the Utah Chapter, as well as on national Sierra Club environmental campaigns.
The WBN is looking for members to get involved and spearhead projects in local issues affecting the environment, such as air quality, climate change, wildlife, and water conservation and quality.
Please email Marion if you would like to get involved with the Wasatch Back Network.
