OUTING INFORMATION

Both the Utah Chapter and individual groups have many outings and activities for your enjoyment and education. Salt Lake Group volunteers lead Tuesday night hikes every week from May through September. Both the Salt Lake Group and the Ogden Group have weekend day hikes, car camps, backpack trips, cross-county ski trips and other outings throughout the year.

Liability waiver policy:
In order to participate on one of the Sierra Club's outings, you will need to sign a liability waiver. If you would like to read a copy of the waiver prior to the outing, please see http://www.sierraclub.org/outings/chapter/forms/ or call 415-977-5630.

The Sierra Club does not have insurance for carpooling arrangements and assumes no liability for them. Carpooling, ride sharing or anything similar is strictly a private arrangement among the participants. Participants assume the risks associated with this travel.

Additional note to outing participants:
All members and nonmembers are welcome on any of the chapter or group activities listed. Interested participants should contact the outing leader in advance to inquire as to updates, degree of difficulty, and other outing details. Participants should be prepared for various seasonal weather conditions, temperature changes that occur due to rapid increases/decreases in altitude, and bring enough food, water, and appropriate clothing for the given outing. Fees charged by the Forest Service are expected to be shared by those carpooling to trailheads in US Forest Service areas. Outing leaders reserve the right to turn away anyone who appears unprepared for a scheduled outing. Unless otherwise noted in the description, outings are not suitable for children. Radios, firearms and dogs are not welcome on Sierra Club outings.
